Ultra-Fast PCR Machine

Accelerating PCR for rapid detection of COVID-19

Sketch of 4-channel prototype plasmonic qPCR system

We are collaborating with Pronto Medical Technologies and Nanopartz Inc to commercialise our plasmonic PCR technology to create an ultrafast PCR machine. By heating a conventional PCR solution that contains Gold Nanoparticle Reagents with a compact laser we are able to rapidly and efficiently heat the solution, without the need for bulky thermoelectric heaters. This will target the detection of COVID-19 RNA.
