Graduate Student

McGill University

Rania Gamal is a PhD Candidate in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at McGill University. Her research focuses on designing broadband silicon photonic biosensors for the purpose of creating point-of-care devices. Previously, she worked as a research assistant at the Center for Nanoelectronics and Devices at the Zewail City for Science and Technology in Cairo, Egypt, where she has done research on sensing using silicon-nanowire based structures, as well as mid-infrared sensing using silicon plasmonics. Rania was also the teaching assistant for the course, “Thermodynamics of Computing” at McGill University
